Who knew?

My blood plasma is yellow! How cool is that?

This evening I was a first-time platelet donor. It was neat. My arm is stiff because it took over an hour, but it was fascinating to watch the plasma separated from the whole blood. I think I'll do it again some time.

  1. I like the plasma process more than the pint process. Did you feel great after?

  4. I tried donating blood once, but the woman missed and I wasn't able to donate. Instead, I got a huge bruise that didn't go away for a month (or more). It turned me off the process completely.

  5. I knew, I knew...lol, do you know how many of those suckers I have either inventoried, handled frozen and then thawed for patients, too many to count. Thank you for donating, with the H1N1, there has been a shortage of donors. Next time I am in Blood bank working, I will think of you.

Funny thing is, I can't donate, I have a false positive blood test that precludes me from donating. My son does it for me!
