Had my follow up mammogram and ultrasound this morning. Everyone at the hospital was very nice, and I should have the results by Monday. I'm going to start calling the doctor tomorrow, just to make sure he knows where we are in the process ... and how anxious I am about the results.From the way the techs spoke this morning, I suspect there are two microcalcifications. I have been reading up on them all day, and have learned that they aren't usually, but can be, cancer. If this is the worst case scenario, I know the cancer has been caught early, which is comforting.
Next steps? I imagine my doctor will either tell me that the ultrasound/follow-up films show nothing serious, or he'll tell me we have to talk about a biopsy.
