"What place do you consider your home?"
I feel I'm home in my neighborhood. I first visited here on a shopping trip when I was in high school and just fell in love with the diversity and the architecture. We have good restaurants and a great art deco movie theater. There's a thriving independent bookstore and three library branches! My GP and dentist are here, too, and so's the vet. I can get to the Loop by el or commuter train, and I can get around town by local bus.
When I think of moving, I like to think of staying here.

These are the thoughts and observations of me — a woman of a certain age. (Oh, my, God, I'm 60!) I'm single. I'm successful enough (independent, self supporting). I live in the burbs and work in the city (Chicago, the best city in the world). I'm an aunt, a friend and a colleague. I feel that voices like mine are rather underrepresented online or in print. So here I am. If my musings resonate with you, please visit my blog again sometime.
