DAY 14 -- August Happiness Challenge

OK, it's True Confession time. One of my most shameful guilty pleasures is watching Nancy Grace on CNN Headline News. She's abrasive, obnoxious and about as real as a $3 bill. Yet, like professional wrestling, she makes damn fine television. Once I tune in, I cannot look away, and I am entertained. (I wish they'd quit running promos for Glenn Beck's show during hers, though. There's something disturbing about him that's downright skin crawly.)

I, on the other hand, HATE IT

This weekend is the Chicago Air & Water Show, an event that many in the Midwest look forward to. But I dread it.

The Blue Angels began practicing today. I work on the 37th floor of an 80+ story skyscraper, the second tallest in Chicago and 16th tallest in the world. When those Navy jets buzz by in formation or fly upside down on their way to the Lakefront, I just want to shudder and cry. All I can think of is 9/11.

The fear won't ever completely go away, will it?
