Sunday Stealing

Questions to Answer when You Need a Break

1. What would you rather be doing right now? Donating that box of stuff. I want it out of here! Rehoming usable stuff is my resolution for 2026 and I'm eager to get started. But the local resale shop only takes donations Tuesday through Thursday, and so the box waits.

2. What is always on your grocery list? Coke

3. Have you ever used a fire extinguisher for its intended purpose? I've never used one for any purpose. But now I'm curious – except for putting out fires, why would you use a fire extinguisher? (This reminds me: I should check the little one in the kitchen cabinet. Fire extinguishers expire, don't they?)

4. How many times did you text yesterday? I'm doing this Saturday night, so I'm referring to my Friday texts:

Those five texts went to three different people: my nephew, my friend Mindy, and the owner of the nail salon (confirming my Monday pedi appt.).

5. Would you prefer a slow-paced, relaxing vacation or one filled with new sights and experiences? Depends on where I'm going, what the weather is, and what experiences are being offered. Right now, I'm following friends on Facebook – one took his family to Peru for the New Year, another is in London. He climbed around Machu Picchu and toured Incan temples. She is enjoying museums, pubs, and waking up on high thread count sheets. I'm enjoying living vicariously through them both.

  1. You should DEFINITELY check the gauge on your fire extinguisher. I used to sell them, albeit largely unsuccessfully.

    1. Good advice, Roger. Answering today's questions made me check and both of ours need recharged.

  2. I've had to find a few new places to take things for donation. I used to love taking to St. Vincent de Paul, but they are only open 10--2 t.hese days. The Salvation Army only takes certain things on certain days. It's frustrating when you work.
According to the action movies and shows my husband watches, fire extinguishers are very effective in stopping the bad guys. You can spray them or just wallop them with it.

  3. When I taught special education preschool, I was off in a building away from other people and the people that we got the fire extinguishers from would come out once a year to maintain them. Definitely check on it. Loved your answers! Have a great day!

  4. I, too, enjoy living vicariously through other people when they're traveling and am up for any kind of vacation, whether it's relaxing or with a packed itinerary.

  6. Our local charity shops will pick up donations. Fortunately, because taking them out would probably never happen otherwise. I'd leave the boxes of stuff right in the middle of the room.

I enjoy vacations that allow me to explore and do it at a leisurely pace.
