Thursday Thirteen #486

I have a theory. I believe the names we get at birth have an impact on our lives. The popular girls of my school days were named Linda and Nancy, not Gracie or Phyllis.

Of course, this brands me as a late-boomer. Names go in and out of fashion. Here are the most popular baby girl names of the 50s and 60s, when I was in school.

Courtesy of Good Housekeeping and the website Kate Knows.

1. Linda

2. Mary

3.  Lisa

4.  Elizabeth

5. Sharon

6. Sandra

7. Nancy

8. Julie

9. Cynthia

10. Barbara

11. Patricia

12. Kimberly

13. Kelly

Think back on your school days. Who were the popular girls? Do you see their names on the above list?

On November 4, I'm joining in Mimi's Blogblast for Peace.
Why don't you do the same? It would be lovely if we filled the blogosphere with peace signs and gentle good wishes for a better future.
