These are the thoughts and observations of me — a woman of a certain age. (Oh, my, God, I'm 65!) I'm single. I'm successful enough (independent, self supporting). I live just outside Chicago, the best city in the world. I'm an aunt and a friend. I feel that voices like mine are rather underrepresented online or in print. So here I am. If my musings resonate with you, please visit my blog again sometime.

Whatever happened to Don Johnson?
I'm watching the Kevin Costner golf movie Tin Cup. Don Johnson has a supporting role and he's really very good. Smooth-voiced. glib and, in the words of Costner's Roy, "a soulless robot." Johnson seems like a natural villain. The kind of guy that things always go well for, even though he doesn't deserve it. I wonder why he doesn't work more … Maybe because of his long-ago Miami Vice fame, he's only seen as a hero?

What was that detective show he was in, co-starring Cheech Morin? I saw The Tin Cup when it came out. My then wife dragged me in. She played golf but I didn't know the first thing about the game so I was bored stiff. I never understood why everyone started jumping in the water at the end.
ReplyDeleteThe last time I saw Don is in the detective show that Nicholas is referring to, "Nash Bridges". It was airing in reruns in the morning/early afternoon on WGN. Not sure if it still is though. By the way... even though I hate golf, I really enjoyed "Tin Cup".
