So it finally happened

Last night's game had it all: home runs, fielding gems, stolen bases, wild pitches, big leads, bigger rallies, a rain delay and an extra inning.

And the Cubs won! They prevailed!

Of course I have a bad cold. Nothing this good comes easy. I napped before the game and slept in this morning. I didn't get dressed until 3:00. Then I belatedly got dressed and walked across town, gazing up at the clear, Cubbie blue sky, as I voted for our first woman POTUS.

What a day!

My sinuses are stuffed and I can't breathe but I don't care. Know why? Look at this marquee!

  3. I can only imagine! You would think I'd know since my dad & brother were consumed with the Cubbies. My Dad picked Chicago in the 1935 World Series after learning the game at 10. I was 7 and I just thought "That's how it's done". It was 1958 and I got to goose between Yanks v. Milwaukee Braves. I knew nothing their history. My dad said at the time: "Wow. That's the team I hate. I said, "Well I can pick the Braves." My dad said that the Yankees play closer and I'd see them more. Wise man. My brother did the "like his dad thing". My brother ($$$) has season 6ickets at both Wrigley & Fenway. He said he hoped the game went past midnight EDT so it fell on my birthday. "Dad would have loved that in this time zone it ended at 12:45 AM. I don't know if I've shared this before. But I am now 65 and I don't remember those things. ;)
