In memory of Naomi Judd (1946-2022)
1) In this week's song, the Judds tell us they aren't impressed by diamonds or foreign travel. If you had your choice, would you prefer a $1,500 diamond pendant or a $1,500 voucher from United Airlines? The voucher! It would enable my oldest friend and I to take a girlfriends' trip or two. Of course, the more mature thing would be to hock the pendant and put the $900 toward my upcoming dental work. Yet this is a fantasy, so why worry about such mundane matters?

No. To be completely honest, I'm not a big fan of the beach. If I end up there, I'll wade in and I'm sure I'll have a good time. But it's not something I seek out.

having a pre-planned schedule? Or would you rather keep things loose? On my workdays, I like to know what to expect. In my personal life, I'd rather just let things unfold.
5) Wynona sang the Elvis classic "Burning Love" in 2002 Disney movie Lilo and Stitch. What's the most recent Disney movie you've seen? Good goobies! I truly don't recall! Though I did really enjoy Lilo and Stitch. Even extraterrestrial koala bears love Elvis.

In 2011, Wynona wrote her first novel, Restless Heart, about a country singer struggling with the price of fame. Have you ever tried your hand at writing fiction? Sure. It's fun. A busman's holiday, as they say. That doesn't mean I'm any good at it.
7) Kid sister Ashley Judd is the only woman in her immediate family to not change her first name. Naomi was born Diana, and Wynona was originally Christina. Do you like your first name? It's fine.

9) Random question: Were you a member of the Columbia House Record Club? Yes! I loved it when those big packages arrived, filled with 12" LPs.
I don't enjoy loud restaurants when I want to catch up with friends...actually I don't like them when it's just Tim and I. His hearing is not the best and when there is a lot of background noise he can't hear worth a darn and he's too stubborn to do anything about it.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember getting the LP's but I did get cassettes and cd's. I like to see groups play, but it is hard to talk when music is playing.
ReplyDelete#2 Sh… I am not a big fan of beaches either but I found a little beach in town that is not crowded on the Cape on the bay side, I can read my book and and not worry about people stepping over you. While just a mile away it is wall to wall people.

I used to love music events--concerts, festivals, that sort of thing. All of it aggravates my tinnitus (probably gotten from the concerts, etc.) so all I hear is loud music and even louder cicadas in my head. Uggg.
ReplyDeleteAs a redhead with pasty white skin that burns to a crisp after five minutes of sun time, the beach is not my favorite place. However, I do enjoy strolling at water's edge and dipping my tootsies in.
ReplyDeleteI am ridiculous when it comes to the beach. I love the beach, but really mostly the view. I will get in the sand, but it is so hard to get it all off yourself. I enjoyed the pool more at our condo when we went to the beach. The view though, is gorgeous and the sound of the waves is so relaxing. Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend.

We seem to be the only ones who would sell the diamond. Rational, logic thinkers, we are. I dislike loud restaurants - but they are all that way anymore.
