Clean Me for Tuesday

Every day I am going to do something -- no matter how small -- to improve my standard of living at home.

It reminds me of a bastardization of an old Catskills comedy routine: “I just cleaned a shelf in my linen closet and boy, does my arm stink.” Let me explain. I had a graveyard of partially used colognes on the second shelf of my linen closet, reasoning that the scents would last longer in that dark, cool environment. Then, after tucking them safely away in the cool darkness, I forgot about them.

Tonight, before I disposed of any, I sprayed a bit on my right arm. Some I found had lost their scent, others I just don't like anymore. Twelve containers of fragrance that, for one reason or the other, I won't wear anymore anyway are in the trash, and two cosmetic bags are in the bag for Goodwill.

  1. I haven't been commenting on your cleaning posts, but needed to tell you that you're daily cleaning has been inspiring-
-I cleaned off the top of my wash machine and inside the soap dispensers
-Went ruthlessly through my closet and bagged up 2 big bags for goodwill and one for no one should wear these and they need to go to the dump
    - I read library books, but end up with books from my mom, I went through the mess on my shelves, kept books not read, two grocery bags to a coworker and 2 grocery bags to the library.
Keep cleaning, I'm right behind you!

  2. I'm getting inspired too! Starting next Tuesday (which marks 30 days smoke-free), I'm going to do 1 thing per day to get the house cleaner and to live healthier.

    Keep up the good work!

  3. I just finished cleaning my bathroom cabinet based on this post. Tossed a bunch of old, half-used body washes and lotions and potions.

    :-)

  4. Progress!
You know I started the Bloggingham Zen project a while back, right?
Now it's done to the little bitty details. It feels wonderful.

We await your next cleaning adventure. Go, Gal, Go.
