Appetizer
What was the last game you purchased? Cars Mater-National. SHHH! I'm giving it to my nephew for Christmas.
Soup
Name something in which you don’t believe. I don't believe there was a second gunman behind the grassy knoll.
Salad
If you could choose a celebrity to be your boss, who would you pick? Jennifer Aniston. She seems nice, and I worry about her, post-Brad.
Main Course
What was a lesson you had to learn the hard way? No one changes unless they want to. You can't want it for them.
Dessert
Describe your idea of the perfect relaxation room. Low lights, subtle fragrance, soft music, and me either soaking in a tub or getting a massage. Yum!

These are the thoughts and observations of me — a woman of a certain age. (Oh, my, God, I'm 65!) I'm single. I'm successful enough (independent, self supporting). I live just outside Chicago, the best city in the world. I'm an aunt and a friend. I feel that voices like mine are rather underrepresented online or in print. So here I am. If my musings resonate with you, please visit my blog again sometime.
wait, of course there was a second gunman.
ReplyDeleteand it figures that you would want to take care of your fantasy boss
Happy Feast Day! I won't tell the nephew!
ReplyDeleteI could get into Jennifer Aniston as a boss; my first thought was no one in Hollywood is worthy of such a role but I've read a couple names and I can see it now.
ReplyDeleteAnd I totally agree with your main course. Those are hard lessons to learn.
Sounds like a lot of fun! I think if I had a tub to soak in in my fantasy relaxation room, it would have to cycle warm water in pretty often. I detest getting nice and snuggly, then having the water get cold. Oooh, and you need one of those heated towel racks too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday, mine's also up!
All these relaxation roomsare making me wistful! Verysweet about JA. Happy Friday.
ReplyDeleteYour main course is spot on. Too bad too, but it's spot on. I love your dessert. Have a great FF and weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with your main course and I so love you dessert. burp!
ReplyDeletehappy FF!
your main course is so true!! Great feast.
ReplyDeleteYour appetizer is on my daughter's list.
ReplyDeleteNice feast.
Mine is up, and I'll try to come back...I am a swiss cheesehead...really I live in WI, my baby sis lives in Chicago though.
Have a great weekend,
Penelope Anne
I like your Salad! I was definitely on her side in that whole debacle.
ReplyDeleteHmm, I forgot to address the fragrance issue in my relaxation room. May need to go back and fix that. ;)
I didn't mean to be offensive with my "soup" and I wasn't the one who said that they are "hypo". In my experiences with extreme feminists in grad school (admittedly a small sample), there was absolutely no support for anything a woman wanted to do with her life aside from being a career woman and stridently political. I am pleased that I had the choice to make and I stand behind my choice but it got tiring to hear all the babble about how I was "feeding into the patriarchy" with my life.
ReplyDeleteSorry, that was a blog, wasn't it? :-)
I just read about your friend's birthday present to you...what a fabulous idea! I'll have to hunt for those things for my best friend's birthday.
Lori: I guess I just am surprised and saddened by how quickly these conversations become hostile. These are intensely personal choices we have each made, aren't they? It would be nice if women on both of of the fence were more respectful and more supportive of one another. Besides, your main course was so lovely and so true! That's the better thing to concentrate on, isn't it? Thanks for coming by and setting it all straight.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your main course! So true! Hope you have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteJennifer :-)
Absolutely agree with your main course and I really love the relaxation room!!
