July Journal Challenge

Day 30 -- How today felt

My boss literally has not looked at or spoken to me this week. I've heard through the grapevine that he had a terrible family vacation last week, so maybe it doesn't have anything to do with me. Except ....

There's a big client presentation on the horizon and no one is talking to me (or, to be fair, my immediate team) about it. A well-connected kid, the son of one of our client's, was in Chicago today to learn about working as a writer at an agency. My boss had him speak to one of our creative directors and a market researcher but not me. Both of these things leave me feeling very uncomfortable -- even though it's like not being invited to a party you didn't want to go to.

So I've gone from hoping for a raise last week to hoping not to be fired this week.

  1. Unpredictable bosses are no fun. I hope things steady out soon!

  2. Bosses can be annoying! They have so much power, and sometimes they abuse it! IF he is upset with you for some reason, the professional thing would be to talk to you about it, not just give you the cold shoulder. And if he's just been having issues in his personal life, he should still be courteous at work!

  3. even tho he is the boss...who is his boss? is he under pressure from someone else and doesn't know how to deal with the position he is in?
    praying for your safety...once again.

  4. Ugggg. Unpredictable bosses. I'm glad I'm not a boss anymore. BTW, I've migrated my blog to a new address....hope you'll join me there. BossNurse doesn't really fit anymore, yanno?

Looking forward to the August Happiness Challenge!!

  5. Bosses can be tough! I hope your boss moves on from whatever is bothering him and you can go back to being comfortable at work. Good luck with everything!

Sorry about adding Comment Moderation, folks. But look at the bright side, at least I've gotten rid of word verification!
