These are the thoughts and observations of me — a woman of a certain age. (Oh, my, God, I'm 65!) I'm single. I'm successful enough (independent, self supporting). I live just outside Chicago, the best city in the world. I'm an aunt and a friend. I feel that voices like mine are rather underrepresented online or in print. So here I am. If my musings resonate with you, please visit my blog again sometime.

The tech dept at school failed us once again... we were unable to watch the video at all today. I downloaded it and burned it to CD so I can show it tomorrow. Better late than never. gah.
ReplyDeleteTim and I watched it with the kids this evening. (Not sure why they didn't watch it at school today ... maybe because it was the first day back and things were hectic.) I thought it was awesome.
ReplyDeleteAnd Book Boy? When we turned it off,he turned to me and said, "Mom, can you find me some math books?" LOL
I read the script of the speech. We had technical difficulties as well.
ReplyDeleteIt's a wonderful speech.
"Stay in school, do your best, find your passion, make a difference, be responsible, take charge of your own destiny" and much more.
Scary stuff, wouldn't you say?
Oh please.
You have to wonder about the parents who keep the kids at home so they won't hear the President's "stay in school" message.
