Friday's Feast #20

Appetizer. Name a great website you would recommend to others. Just Give.com. You can buy your friends and family charity "gift certificates" that can be redeemed at any of the million charities participating (anything from legal aid to literacy groups to animal shelters). This way, the person who receives your gift certificate can choose the cause closest to their heart.

Soup. On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 as highest), how often do you dream at night? 3. I don't often remember my dreams.

Salad. Did you have a pet as a child? If so, what kind and what was its name? When I still lived with my parents I had one of the world's great cats, Tommy. Big, affectionate, always happy -- he was my best friend and some of my happiest childhood memories include him.

Main Course. If you had the chance to star in a commercial, what would you choose to advertise? Shout Color Catchers. Throw them in the wash and they capture the loose dye in the water, enabling me to wash darks and lights together. I truly love Shout Color Catchers. They have shortened my time in the laundry room and saved some of my clothes.

Dessert. What is your favorite kind of hard candy? The little cinamoon disks that my florist has in a bowl next to the cash register.

I love your idea for the website! And I still haven't tried the color catchers, but your enthusiasm makes me think I should. :)

  3. I've never tried the color catchers but that's less important to me since all my 'chirun's' are grown and gone. I don't do laundry often enough to worry about it!

    Have a great weekend!

  4. I love your salad, I've never even heard of a Shout color catcher, that sounds great and I read your post about your friend's heart issue. Sorry about that, I hope he can make a good decision for himself. If he's going to get it, then do it right away, right!?

Your florist? how often do you go to a florist? Am I over reacting? Actually, it's quite cool that you have a florist. Gotta get me one, I guess.

  7. "Just Give.com" even has a charity bridal registry, if you happen to know any brides who have everything …

Color Catchers are the way to go!

Thanks for the good wishes for my friend.

And EVERYONE should have a florist! For less than $10 I pick up an arrangement of daisies, carnations or mums (whatever is in the bucket by the door) and all the free cinnamon disks I can grab. It's the most colorful, life affirming $10 or less I spend each week.

  8. Your commercial sounded like a commercial. :-) I've never heard of the catchers. Must investigate.

Hope you have a great weekend!
