Late 80s.

I was tying my shoes, getting ready to catch the 8:10 train, when I heard about it from Matt Lauer on The Today Show. Rode the train in, crying, listening to my Walkman. I heard the Pentagon get hit through my headphones. Got to work in one of Chicago's higher profile skyscrapers, only to be escorted out and sent back home by the Chicago cops. I will never, ever forget it.
These are the thoughts and observations of me — a woman of a certain age. (Oh, my, God, I'm 65!) I'm single. I'm successful enough (independent, self supporting). I live just outside Chicago, the best city in the world. I'm an aunt and a friend. I feel that voices like mine are rather underrepresented online or in print. So here I am. If my musings resonate with you, please visit my blog again sometime.
Remember that J. Geils video - My Angel is a Centerfold - and the girl in it who looked just like Martha Quinn? You would not BELIEVE how many hours were wasted debating whether or not it was her. Time that could have been spent on the academic pursuits of higher education, judging from my college transcript.
ReplyDeleteI am so so doing this one!
ReplyDeleteI've just done this too. Enjoyed your answers, too. All of our kegging days appear to be WAAAY over! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try to do this one this weekend if I have time.(You do so many that I want to steal ... wish I had time to steal them all!)
ReplyDeleteMartha was my favorite, too. And I'm not much on the expensive wine, either. A waste of money, methinks.
ReplyDeleteI put one up.
