Let's be real: his superficial appeal was an undeniable factor. He was youngish and vibrant, with the shiniest light brown hair you'd ever see. Years of work as a courtroom star translated well to the Senate floor and campaign trail: he knew how to craft an argument, reel you in and leave you with no other option but side with him.
I'm intrigued!

ReplyDeleteDidn't he have an affair? I am reading Oath & Honor by Liz Cheney. I don't agree with her political stances on culture, etc., but I do agree with her on the efforts to save the U.S. Constitution and keep the nation out of the hands of would-be dictators. I wonder how different things would have been if the Kerry/Edwards team had won way back when.
