This case -- featured on the cover of the new PEOPLE -- continues to both fascinate and haunt me.
The mom and now defendant, Casey Anthony, is a pathological liar and an amazing nut job. The grandmother, Cindy Anthony, is more than a little bizarre herself. The dogged investigators keep relentlessly pursuing clues and piecing the puzzle together. Most of all, there's Caylee, the bewitching missing victim, a tiny brown-eyed girl who captured the heart of all who have met her (except perhaps, tragically, her mom).
Here's my theory: Mom Casey -- unemployed party girl -- couldn't afford a sitter but couldn't bear to spend a single night without male attention. So she would take Caylee with her and, to make sure she slept quietly in the car while Mom partied on, Casey would dose Caylee with chloroform. One night, she simply used too much.
She paniced and tried to make Caylee's death looks like a more blameless, more easily understandable, accident by leaving her in the backyard pool. For whatever reason, that didn't work and she had to move the body again. Stuffing her child in the trunk, Caylee drove around and found a spot in the woods. She settled on a secluded spot and disposed of little Caylee.
Caylee. Poor Caylee. I hope her passing was painless, and that she's at peace.
I am of the opinion also that Casey 'chloroformed' Caylee, for whatever reason. I'm not sure about the pool but I do think she tried to bury her. I have a question though. If the back of the trunk of the car reeked, wouldn't the body had to have been in the truck for more than an hour, or the transit time to the airport????

ReplyDeleteI mentioned the pool because the cadaver dogs originally hit on an area behind the Anthony's home, as well as the car, and I can't figure out why you'd chloroform a drowned kid ... unless you tried to sink an already chloroformed kid to cover your tracks. I think your theory that she drove around with that poor dead kid in the hot trunk for an hour going out to the airport is a good one. She probably figured no one could connect her or her car to that area.
ReplyDeleteI don't agree.
ReplyDeleteThe Google searches for chloroform and missing children weeks before Caylee's disappearance speak to premeditation.
You can give a sleeping pill, even an over the counter cough syrup, to make a child go to sleep. She had to know chloroform could kill. A partying mom would have used a sedative pill, not chloroform.
Her complete, chilling lack of emotion, upset and remorse do not point to an accident, but a purposeful act.
Even if she didn't opt to report the accident--which is possible--she would have shown a scintilla of emotion after the fact. She has not. She wanted the child dead. This was no accident.
I think the police have a very very clear picture of what happened. The public does not have access to all of the google searches, or the full transcripts of text messages, and interviews with people she talked to during the crucial times. They also have many more details about why she would or would not have her cell phone pinged in certain location. When this trial starts it won't be as circumstantial and flimsy as some say, I think it will be a slam dunk.
ReplyDeleteNow, here is my theory. (Although since I just read that she googled about missing children a week earlier this may not be as credible as I thought).
Ok. The theory. Casey was dating a sketchy guy who was a drug dealer in the club scene. I think that in one of their drugged up fantasies they cooked up a plan to either rob their dealer of a lot of exctasy or rob a customer who thought they were going to buy a bunch of it. The chloroforum was going to be used on this victim, either to induce amnesia or because they did intend on murdering this person. Being so irresponsible and drugged out she Casey left her homemade bathtub chloroforum just laying around the house, maybe in the kitchen. She probably often passed out and left Caylee awake and unsupervised to fend for herself. Caylee came across the chloroforum, which may have even been in a bottle, and since her mother wasn't going to feed her or give her a drink she sampled it. Being so small and fragile this one ingestion was all it took. By the time Casey woke up from her nap she discovered Caylee dead. Being a drugged out, thiefing, scheming, pathological liar she thought she could fool everyone the way she probably had throughout her whole life. After renting her "how to" movie from Blockbuster she had a genius master plan of how to dispose of the body. The is so pyschopathic and maniacal by the next day she thought she was completely out of the woods and could explain her way out of anything that came up. She just continued to party and live her life. She had ignored Caylee so much anyway, that nothing really changed. She was probably shocked at first, sad for about a minute, and then her scheming mind took over. She probably convinced herself after a few days that her lies were true. She may not even remember the incident anymore. Anyway, that's my theory.
Anyone think it could be credible?
