These are the thoughts and observations of me — a woman of a certain age. (Oh, my, God, I'm 65!) I'm single. I'm successful enough (independent, self supporting). I live just outside Chicago, the best city in the world. I'm an aunt and a friend. I feel that voices like mine are rather underrepresented online or in print. So here I am. If my musings resonate with you, please visit my blog again sometime.

Trifecta
This weekend's challenge: Using EXACTLY 33 or 333 words, write a creative piece inspired by this photo.
Ok, be that way. You won’t look at me, so I won’t look at
you. You’re just jealous of my pretty blonde hair and blue shoes. But they
don’t make sandals for hooves!
Cute! And I hear that tone so often frankly, in little princess girls my little boys know. Rings true! :). I've moved so here's my link and hope you start following me there . http://www.awriterweavesatale.com/2012/06/15/sandras-writing-workshop-hop-2/
Thank you so much for linking up to Trifextra this weekend. The challenge this weekend will be judged by the community. So please come back to the Trifecta home page and click the stars next to the three posts you most enjoyed. You only have until Monday at 8 am EST, so hurry!
Please note: If you have a WordPress blog, I can't return the favor and comment on your post unless you change your settings. WordPress hates me these days.
I wrote "be that way" in my entry before I ever read yours. That is SO the look she is giving. Nice work!
ReplyDeletePlus, my shoes are made of cowhide. Yours are made of hoof.
ReplyDeleteThis is cute! (Good thing she wasn't wearing a leather jacket :))

ReplyDeleteI couldn't help but notice the look on the little girl's face, too. Funny.

ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet...I like your POV getting right into the lil' girl's thoughts! Well done!!
ReplyDeleteSo cute and very clever. What a little princess LOL!
ReplyDeleteThe little girl DOES look as though she could be thinking that! Nice job :)
ReplyDeleteVery sweet - I love that you worked in the facial expression. It's interesting to see what each writer focuses on.
