As assistant to the Cubs' general manager, he said all the right things about Zambrano, but then, he's always been perfectly appropriate with the press, so that's no surprise.

He's the equivalent of Jamie Moyer. He never really threw hard with a lot of velocity, but he was smart and knew how to pitch with deception and placement.
