These are the thoughts and observations of me — a woman of a certain age. (Oh, my, God, I'm 65!) I'm single. I'm successful enough (independent, self supporting). I live just outside Chicago, the best city in the world. I'm an aunt and a friend. I feel that voices like mine are rather underrepresented online or in print. So here I am. If my musings resonate with you, please visit my blog again sometime.

Gary Coleman frightens me
He has done a series of commercials for a lending company (one that charges an APR of up to 99.25% -- which is scary right there), and the little fella terrifies me. There is nothing cute or warm about him. He cackles about being broke and having no one to turn to. There is clearly something ... otherworldly about him. Perhaps evil. Where is Fox Muldaur when I need him? I know he would understand what I'm talking about!
At least the sock puppet from Pets.Com who is now schilling for car loans is cute
ReplyDeleteI've seen those commercials and I find them very sad. He made a huge amount of money as a child star but when he was old enough to spend it, there was none left. No wonder he needs to borrow money.
ReplyDeleteI didn't notice the 99% APR but I did notice how the terms and conditons, in small print, are up on the screen for 3 microseconds, so no one has a chance of actually reading them.
